System Tool Malware
There is a spate of fake messages appearing telling you that your machine is infected. Mostly these are from something calling itself System Tool. These are fake messages, and the list of infections are fake. The purpose of these messages is to direct you to a website to collect your credit card details in exchange for removing these infections.
DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM. They just want your credit card details, that's all.
We've seen a large number of machines come in with this infection over the past few days. The good news is that we can clean it off without losing any of your documents, photos, music etc. Please come and see us if you have this message on your screen.

Where did it come from?
Whilst we can't answer that, as we weren't using your computer when it got infected, we suspect doing a search for ebay has been a common factor. Remember, if you know the web address, type it directly in the address bar rather than using the search box. If your default search has been compromised, your results could be taking you anywhere!
We also understand this tool may be using a Java exploit, which has been patched today. So if you see a little Java icon telling you an update is available, please install it, it just might prevent you from being infected again.
